Hidalgo County sandbag distribution continues Friday, opens shelter in Donna

EDINBURG — The Hidalgo County call center is activated and answering residents calls for assistance regarding weather related issues and sandbag distribution, according to a news release. Residents can call (956) 292-7750 for more information.

There is one shelter open is at the Donna Recreation Center located at 307 Miller Avenue in Donna.

Precinct offices will continue to distribute sandbags today at the following locations:

Precinct 1

>> Sunrise Hill Park

Mile 11 N and Mile 1 ½ W., Mercedes

Noon to 7 p.m.

No proof required. Limit 6 sandbags per household.

>> Monte Alto Veterans Park

Noon to 7 p.m.

No proof required. Limit 6 sandbags per household.

Precinct 2

>> Field Operations Facility

4011 S. Veterans Rd., San Juan

8 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Five bags per household. ID or utility bill required.

Precinct 3

>> 2401 N. Moorefield Rd (La Mansion), Mission

9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

No proof of residence required. Limit six sandbags per household.

Precinct 3 Drainage Yard Property

>> 2800 W. Mile 7 Road

(La Homa Rd and 7 Mile Line)

9 a.m. to 8 p.m.

No proof of residence required. Limit six sandbags per household.

Precinct 4

>> Operations Office

1124 N. M Road, Edinburg

7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

ID required. Limit 5 sandbags per household.
