Slightly above average Hurricane Season predicted

The first prediction for the 2018 Atlantic Hurricane Season forecast has been released today and forecasters predict it will be a slightly above average season.

Dr. Philip Klotzbach a research Scientist in the Department of Atmospheric Science of Colorado State University, said he’s calling for a slightly above average season because officials don’t believe there will be an active El Nino.

There will be 14 named storms, seven hurricanes and three major hurricanes.

Klotzbach made the announcement at this morning’s National Tropical Weather Conference at South Padre Island.
