The National Weather Service in Brownsville has issued a freeze warning for the entire Rio Grande Valley.
The freeze warning will be in effect from 6 p.m. today through 10 a.m. Tuesday.
A freeze watch remains in effect from late Tuesday through Wednesday morning.
A wind chill advisory remains in effect until 10 a.m. Tuesday. Expect wind chills to range from 20 to 25 degrees.
The NWS reports cold arctic air will continue to spill into the Valley in the wake of a strong cold front. Freezing temperatures are expected tonight for most of the region with another round of freezing temperatures likely Tuesday night.
The temperatures will range between 28 to 32 degrees.
A freeze warning means sub-freezing temperatures are imminent or highly likely. The NWS reports these conditions will kill crops and other sensitive vegetation.
