The Starr County Sheriff’s Office is searching for two brothers who went missing Wednesday, according to a news release issued Friday afternoon.

Mario Alberto Garza, 17, and Rosvel Garza, 19, were reported missing by their mother, Cristina Clarke, who said they left home around 9 a.m. in a gray Dodge Dakota single cab pickup.

Clarke said her sons were not answering her phone calls, according to the release.

Earlier that day, at about 4 p.m., deputies responded to a vehicle on fire on La Sagunada Road about four miles west of Farm-to-Market Road 755.

The vehicle, which appeared to be a mid-size pickup truck, was completely burned. It had rammed through a gate and struck a mesquite tree before it was left to burn.

The case remains under investigation and the public is encouraged to contact the sheriff’s office with any information at (956) 487-5571.
