GREELEY, Colo. — The UTPA baseball lost 16-3 in seven innings in Game 1 of its doubleheader with Northern Colorado on Saturday. The second game was suspended in the second inning due to heavy rain.

It will be made up starting at 1 p.m. The regularly scheduled game will follow that.

In the full game, the Bears had an 11-run fourth inning where they pounded out eight hits and walked four times to chase Dusten Knight from the game. Luis Flores came in but didn’t fare enough better.

The Broncs are now 24-24 overall and 14-7 in the Great West Conference—tied with UNC for the lead of the non-automatic bid league.

Game 2 was stopped in the second with UTPA down 1-0 in the bottom of the frame.
