GRAND FORKS, N.D. — UTPA’s Riley Goulding had hits in a doubleheader against North Dakota on Friday to extend his hitting streak to 17, but the Broncs were swept North Dakota, dropping Game 1 8-7 and Game 2 6-5 at Kraft Memorial Field.
Goulding went a combined 2-for-6 with a walk, a double and two runs scored and is now 22-for-54 (.407) during the streak.
Both teams piled up hits during the two games, as the Broncs (23-21, 13-4 Great West Conference) went 23-for-67 (.343) and UND (15-17-1, 6-8 GWC) went 25-for-74 (.338).
The Broncs were led by Shane Ammon, who went 4-for-7 with a walk, two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored, and Shane Klemcke, who went 5-for-9 with two doubles, an RBI and two runs scored. Derek Hagy and Will Klausing had three hits each.
