EDINBURG — The UTPA baseball team scored 11 runs over the first three innings en route to a 13-2, seven-inning victory over Jackson State on Sunday at Edinburg Baseball Stadium.
The Broncs (9-12) scored six runs in the first inning behind Riley Goulding’s 3-run home run. Alex Howe (2-run single) and Chris Torres (RBI single) also had key hits in the frame.
In the second, the Broncs added two more runs behind Bryan Ramirez and Will Klausing. In the third, Shane Klemcke’s sac fly and Jacob Huckabay’s 2-run double accounted for the scoring. It was enough for Dusten Knight, who struck out eight and went the distance.
