Vaqueros fall flat, no longer control own destiny

EDINBURG — UTRGV was already in a touchy situation heading into this weekend’s home WAC series against Grand Canyon at UTRGV Baseball Stadium. The Vaqueros needed a sweep of the three-game set to control their own destiny and assure a ticket to next week’s conference tournament.

Brown, Luck encouraged by prospect of college football at UTRGV

EDINBURG — Mack Brown’s throw skidded across the plate as he delivered the ceremonial first pitch with NCAA executive Oliver Luck before UTRGV’s baseball game against Grand Canyon on Thursday night at UTRGV Baseball Stadium. Luck’s throw, however, was a hard strike right down the middle.

Coleman coached UTRGV women’s tennis coach Stephanie Wooten-Quijada years ago and recommended his former pupil to his current pupil when Donaho was looking for a place to play collegiately.
