University of Texas-Pan American

FORT WORTH - Texas Christian utilized a crowd of 3,497 to help recover from an early 5-0 deficit against the University of Texas-Pan American, winning 8-5 to sweep the three-game series.

The crowd of children, bused in from middle schools, erupted when the Horned Frogs (36-16) scored six runs in the sixth inning, using three walks, four hits and one hit batsman.

One dropped ball by the Broncs (18-34) was ruled a hit.

Starting pitcher Cody Cisper gave up five runs in the sixth inning. Evan Cunningham was charged with the loss for giving up the sixth and winning run.

UTPA, ending an 11-game road trip, led 5-0 after the first six innings as Bonham Hough and Ryan Vest each drove in two runs. Each team had nine hits.

The Broncs play their final four games at home from May 22 through 25 in the National Independent Tournament.
