Bravos FC changes name to Ocelots

From Bravos FC reports

MERCEDES — Consistent with its mascot, the Texas ocelot, and in efforts to raise awareness and activism to preserve the native endangered species, the Muay Thai Alliance of Texas announced Tuesday that its Southern Premier Soccer League franchise will be known as RGV Ocelots FC.

Along with the name change, the MTAT has decided to change the soccer franchise’s colors from navy blue and gold to orange, white, silver, and black.

"These changes come from our agreement with the United Soccer League, which prohibits the use of a team name and logo for a period of one year after dissociating from the league," Ocelot FC owner Kru Kayan Sitsanthaparn said. "The name, trademarks and team logos cannot be used if the team participates in another league.

"We’re fine with the changes as we were already contemplating their incorporation. In this case, we’re making good on the agreement to discontinue the use of the name and logo and do so effective immediately."
