Scorpians name Mummert new AD

Vernon Mummert was named director of athletics at the University of Texas at Brownsville and Texas Southmost College on Monday. Mummert succeeds Dan Huntley, who accepted a position at Concordia University in August.

Mummert comes to UTB/TSC with 17 years experience as a director of athletics at three universities. Mummert served as the AD from 1998 through 2008 at Wabash College (Ind.). Under Mummert's direction, the Wabash athletics program joined the North Coast Athletic Conference in 1999.
