HIDALGO -- Receiver Ramonce Taylor joined the Rio Grande Valley Dorados to get his football career going again after a trouble with the law derailed his future on the field.

Now Taylor's football career is on a track headed for Canada as the former University of Texas player is leaving the Dorados to join the Winnipeg Blue Bombers of the Canadian Football League, according to a source in the Dorados' organization.

The arenafootball2 assigned Taylor to the Dorados in January and he joined the team in March for training camp at Cats Stadium in Edinburg. Taylor saw limited practice time in camp due to plantar fasciitis in his left foot. When he was on the field, Taylor shined, making one-handed grabs and out-jumping defenders on high passes. He also was one of the more outspoked players in camp, talking trash to the defensive backs and shouting compliments to his fellow receivers.

Taylor made three catches for 31 yards in the Dorados' 40-33 season-opening win over Corpus Christi on March 28. It was his only game with the team.
