Coyotes sign Santana, Castro
Comments 0 | Recommend 0EDINBURG - The Edinburg Coyotes of the ULB announced Tuesday they have signed first baseman Mayobanex Santana. Santana, 26, has played in the Chicago White Sox, Arizona Diamondbacks, Cleveland Indians and Oakland Athletics organizations.
"I expect great things from him since he had some success in minor league baseball," Coyotes manager Vince Moore said. "If he wants to go back to affiliated ball then this pitstop in Edinburg should help him get to where he wants to go."
The Coyotes also announced that closer Julio Castro will return for a third season. In 2007, Castro picked up 19 saves, the third-highest total in the ULB.
