Bucks thrash Bees
Comments 0 | Recommend 0LAREDO - The Laredo Bucks clinched the No. 1 seed in the Southern Conference playoffs with An 8-2 win over the Rio Grande Valley Killer Bees on Friday night at the Laredo Entertainment Center.
The Bucks took a 2-0 lead into the second period on goals by Alex Goupil and Igor Agarunov.
The Bees tied the game atin the second on goals by Josh Bonar and Jason Weitzel, only to see the Bucks respond with three consecutive goals. James Hiebert broke the 2-2 tie with his 26th goal at 11:06. Just 19 seconds later, Matt Summers banged home his 12th to make it 4-2.
Bucks veteran and CHL MVP candidate Jeff Bes connected at 16:57 for his franchise record-tying 45th goal on a shot that beat Bees goalie A.J. Bucchino off the post. The 45 goals by Bes is a professional high for the 15-year pro.
