Broncs rally to beat UCCS 87-78

The University of Texas-Pan American came from behind to defeat the University of Colorado-Colorado Springs 87-78 on Sunday at Clune Arena in Colorado Springs, CO.


The teams traded the lead several times late in the game but the Broncs took the lead for good with 6:52 left two Emmanuel Jones free throws.


Sophomore Nick Weiermiller led the way for the Broncs, finishing with a career-high 19 points on 6-of-12 shooting from the field to along with eight assists and two steals.


Five Broncs finished in double-figures, including Emmanuel Jones (16 points, eight boards and two steals). P.J. Turner had 14 points and Luis Valera finished with 12. Ben Smith collected 11 points and five rebounds.
