Vipers score 44 in third to beat Albuquerque

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — The Vipers scored a franchise-best 44 points in the third quarter to defeat Albuquerque 106-88 on Tuesday.

Mike Harris, who on Monday was named the NBA D-League player of the month for January, scored 31 points and had 22 rebounds for his 10th double-double this season. Jermaine Taylor, the Vipers’ Houston Rockets’ assignee, had 30 points. Antonio Anderson had 15 and Garrett Temple 11.

The Thunderbirds were led Carlos Powell’s 27 points.

The Vipers are now 4-2 against the Thunderbirds this season. They will meet again at 8 p.m. tonight and then against on Friday night before the Vipers return home Saturday night for a nationally-televised contest against Reno.
