This Saturday, vote the Pharr First team
Comments 0 | Recommend 0Pharr can no longer afford the three R's of failed leadership. That is the reason why I voted for the Pharr First candidates: Oscar Elizondo Jr., Eduardo Cantu, and Bobby Carrillo.
We should be doing everything we can to turn our Pharr economy around and provide job opportunities for all of the residents of Pharr.
Instead, we are spending precious time and energy fighting over trivial matters.
I cannot stand by and watch our local reputation as the "International Hub City" tumble further and further down the drain.
The only way to finally make the changes we so desperately need is to elect an overwhelming Pharr First majority to the Pharr City Commission. We have the opportunity on Saturday, May 10, to do just that.
The following are just a few of the issues that need to be addressed:
>> Stop the political bickering at city hall.
>> Promote safe neighborhoods.
>> Increase funding for Capital Improvement Projects.
>> Create public-private partnerships in the areas of both commercial and residential development, especially for first-time homeowners, working families and small
businesses.
>> Advocate for job creation by leveraging our international bridge as an engine of prosperity, including partnering with community leaders to utilize a federal empowerment zone to attract funding for infrastructure, job training and new business creation.
We can't accomplish these great things without expending our voice in the city commission.
You, the citizens of Pharr, play a crucial part in this effort to win these seats on May 10.
I hope that I can count on your support and vote for: Oscar Elizondo Jr., Eduardo Cantu, and Bobby Carrillo.
