To the editor:

As a proud native of McAllen, Texas, and a product of its independent school district, I found it frightening that the McAllen ISD Board of Trustees’ website would allow the unfortunate misspelling of “President” as “Presedent” next to the high-ranking official.

The website that promulgates “Transforming Learning in the classroom, campus and community” should perhaps afford the same values toward those required to maintain the district’s Web pages. While surely President Aliseda is not responsible for this tragic misspelling, I believe that some responsibility should fall upon the Board itself to review the site(s) upon which they are displayed, including their respective titles and their (mis)spellings.

Simple mistakes like this reflect badly upon McAllen ISD, the Board of Trustees and those individuals associated.
