Mexican military kills 3 gunmen, seizes hundreds of weapons in Reynosa operations

The Mexican military reported rescuing three abductees, killing three gunmen, injuring three more and arresting 24 others during a string of seizures from Sept. 10 to 16 in Reynosa.

During the operations, authorities seized three armored vehicles and 26 SUVs, eight tractor-trailers, one motorcycle and one all-terrain vehicle.

The military also reported seizing 165 rifles, 49 pistols, 61 grenades, four grenade launchers and one rocket launcher. Additionally, authorities seized nearly 48,000 ammunition rounds and more than 720 ammunition magazines, as well as various tactical and weapon-enhancement items.   

In another seizure, they found 10 bulletproof vests, $108,810 in bulk cash and 474,800 Mexican pesos.
