McAllen school board to interview firms for superintendent search
Comments 0 | Recommend 0McALLEN -- The School Board of Trustees will interview four consulting firms to determine which one will help find a new superintendent.
School board members will conduct the interviews from 12-4 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 27 at its meeting room, 2000 N. 23rd St.
The board selected the following firms at a special meeting it held on Oct. 6: BWP and Associates LLC of Libertyville, IL, Waterford School Services Inc. of Austin, School Executive Consulting of Dallas and the Texas Association of School Boards in Austin.
The meeting is open to the public.
McAllen's school board has been cautiously considering how to look for a new superintendent after its current leader Yolanda Chapa announced in August she plans to retire at the end of the year. Chapa said she would stay with the district until a new superintendent is found.
Board members have said previously they want to make sure they make the right decision in who they hire.
