STC wins award for excellence in financial reporting

McALLEN -- South Texas College received the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada.

This is the fourth consecutive year the college has received the award, according to a news release the college sent.

The most recent award was presented at the college's Board of Trustees meeting in December.

The financial reporting program was set up in 1945 to recognize and encourage excellence in financial reporting by state and local governments.
