Pharr man dies in crash

PHARR — A Pharr motorist died early Friday morning after ramming into the back of another vehicle at the intersection of Jackson and Ferguson roads.

Pharr police said 29-year-old Jesus Arturo Rodriguez drove his Chevrolet Cavalier into the back of a Mitsubishi Montero and was killed instantly.

The driver of the Montero, 45-year-old Marisela Rangel, of McAllen, was taken to McAllen Medical Center, authorities said. Her injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.

Police did not say whether they believed alcohol was a factor. The crash remains under investigation.
