McALLEN — Border Patrol agents detained 60 people from an alleged human stash house near North 10th Street on Thursday afternoon.
Danny Tirado, a spokesman with Border Patrol, said they received a call from McAllen police for assistance with a house in the 1100 block of Whitewing Avenue.
Shortly after Border Patrol left, scattered clothes and toiletries could be seen through the open windows of the unfurnished house.
Tirado said 58 of the people detained originated from El Salvador, Mexico, Honduras and Guatemala. The remaining two are U.S. citizens and are currently under investigation for their involvement with the stash house.
