MISSION — Authorities arrested a man from Reynosa at the Anzalduas International Bridge on Sunday when he drove a car that held $2.5 million worth of cocaine.
The 26-year-old Mexican national, who presented a Mexican border crossing card, drove a white 2004 Lincoln Aviator that was referred to a secondary inspection, according to a government news release.
U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers found 28 packages of cocaine hidden inside the car that weighed nearly 76 pounds.
CBP seized the cocaine and the car. They estimated the drugs had a street value of $2,426,000.
