PEÑITAS — The U.S. Marshals Service announced the Monday morning arrest of a woman who had spent eight years on the run attempting to flee drug charges.
Selene Ramos was arrested Monday morning at a house in the 1600 block of Sago Palm Drive by members of the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Fugitive Task Force.
Ramos, 29, is wanted by the Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office in Plaquemine, La., for failing to appear at a court hearing. The hearing stems from a 2004 arrest when Louisiana authorities found 7 kilograms of cocaine in her vehicle. The woman posted bond and had been on the run since. She was taken to the Hidalgo County Jail pending her transfer to Louisiana.
