Time for Garcia autograph session changed
McALLEN The schedule for St. Louis Cardinals pitcher Jaime Garcia’s appearance at Hobbies and Heroes Saturday has changed.
Garcia, 25, a Sharyland High graduate and No. 2 starter for the World Series champion, will be available for autographs and personal pictures earlier than expected. The event will be from 12:30 to 2 p.m. at Hobbies and Heroes, 5401 N. 10th St., No. 127, McAllen.
For $20, fans can attend the event, get an autographed photo and have their picture made with Garcia. A $50 donation provides them the addition of his autographed baseball card.
Hobbies and Heroes is working to acquire authentic baseballs from Major League Baseball that can be signed for a $75 donation. The World Series baseballs previously available are sold out.
Garcia started two games for the Cardinals in the World Series, posting 10 strikeouts and a 1.80 ERA over 10 innings.
All proceeds from his appearance at Hobbies and Heroes will benefit the March of Dimes, the charitable organization committed to research and education on premature birth, birth defects and infant mortality.
