Comments 0 | Recommend 0EDINBURG — While canceling a Sunday worship service may seem like a radical move, which is exactly what the leaders of First United Methodist Church of Edinburg will do on Sept. 27. Instead of attending the regular 11 a.m. worship service, church members will take part in a variety of service projects designed to aid the community. Projects will include preparing lunch for residents at the Salvation Army, going door-to-door to collect food for the Food Bank of the RGV, engaging in conservation efforts at the Valley Nature Center and more. The church adopted has based its service plan on a nation-wide, ecumenical program called “Faith in Action.” Faith in Action encourages all Christians to be the church and not just go to church. For more information about Faith in Action Sunday at First United Methodist Church, call (956) 381-9806.
