Cable outage briefly leaves Cowboys fans in the dark
McALLEN - Some Rio Grande Valley Cowboys fans missed part of a Thanksgiving tradition today.
A power outage where Time Warner Cable receives its satellite signal knocked out cable services for the entire Valley, said Time Warner spokesman Rolando Vela. The blackout occured in the middle of the second quarter of the Cowboys game.
The game, in its 40th year, has become a Thanksgiving tradition for many Texas sports fans. The game blacked out in the second quarter, just after 4 p.m. The outage lasted about half an hour.
The blackout affected all of the approximately 100,000 Time Warner customers in the Rio Grande Valley.
