London Grill & Tavern

What was once a bastion of the Irish has now been taken over by the British. London Grill & Tavern opened its doors at the old Bennigan’s location offering McAllen a taste of England.

Customers can catch a game of English football or take in the large black and white cityscapes of the U.K. capital, which adorn the walls in the East Nolana restaurant. The bar, lined with vinyl Beatles records, has a selection of over 30 beers on tap, including Wells Bombardier, the official beer of English Heritage.

Serving a variety of sandwiches, burgers and whole-wheat pizzas, the eatery is like a Chili’s or Applebees but it does offer two British cuisine favorites: Fish and chips and shepherd’s pie.
