Edinburg High School presents August: Osage County, a play

Edinburg High School proudly presents their season opener, a new play by Tracy Letts titled, August: Osage County. The play will run at 7 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27 through Saturday, Sept. 29, ending with a matinee at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 30 at the Edinburg Performing Arts Centre.

 

The play opens with a once-famous poet interviewing a potential caregiver for his mentally-ill wife, Violet, who is being treated for mouth cancer. The caregiver, Johanna, accepts the position and finds that Violet is addicted to various prescription drugs, and often has violent mood swings. The play is in three acts, with an ending you won’t see coming. Tickets are $5 at the door. For more information, call the Edinburg Performing Arts Centre at (956) 289-2400.
