Date announced for Tejano Music Awards

The 29th Annual Tejano Music Awards will take place April 11, 2009, at the San Antonio Municipal Auditorium, the two nonprofit organizations sponsoring the event announced this week. The Texas Talent Musicians Association and VIVE Tejano also announced that the TMA Fan Fair will take place March 20-22 at Market Sqaure in San Antonio.

This year, four new categories have been added to the award show, which in the past has given awards to several Tejano artists from the Valley. Three Best New Artist categories (male, female and group) will now be given out as well as the Horizon Award.
