NEW RESTAURANTS 2010: La Terraza

The Monitor

The year-long wait has ended. The prayers have been answered. Ready the tears of joy. A taqueria has opened in the heart of McAllen’s Entertainment District. And it stays open until 4:30 a.m. all weekend.

Anyone who has ever closed out a bar on South 17th Street is jumping for joy right now. When you finish up the boozing, you can now get some grub. La Terraza offers all sorts of Mexican food. You can get tacos with fajita, bistek or trompo. They have beans, baked potatoes and a number of other items.

La Terraza also has a spacious, open-air patio. One question remains: Why did it take so long for a place like this to open?
