The Jericho Machine
The Jericho Machine
- The players:
Robert Perez - Vocals, guitar
Ogre - bass
Adrian Varela - drums
- In a nutshell:
You won't find any second-rate musicians in this trio. The Jericho Machine is out for blood and will do what it takes to make it to the top of their game. They've got serious potential to do great things. Their sound is marketable and their songs have the ability to make it on the radio. One piece of advice...stay humble. You don't want to turn into Oasis. Looks like they've made friends in opportune places. It always boils down to who you know.
- Date of birth:
Nov 2007
- Tunes
Robert Perez can lay down some vocals. He's got a voice that won't quit. Listen for "Mosquito Hunting" and "Portable Sun" two of the highlights off of Educated Donkeys. Hooks are a challenge from time to time. And some songs lack that oomph. Overall, solid sound.
- Lyrics
Again, Robert is the main man behind the words. They're intricate and well thought out. You might not understand what he's talking about but listen a few times more and you'll be singing along.
- What's in a name
They got their name from the title of Robert Perez's book. And they liked the way it sounded. There are times when he would rehearse this response, he says. "The Jericho Machine is a mechanism that enables someone to bring down the wall in their minds that would inhibit their ability to progress."
- Threads:
The rest of the trio should follow Adrian's lead. Show us a little more style, a little more personality in your gear. I know it's your favorite ball cap but there's a rad looking Mohawk underneath that needs some air time too. Overall, they should amp it up a bit on stage.

Solid set. A word of advice, give folks a little more. A little more movement, interaction...connection. Your fans love you, but there are tons more out there who need some lovin' too.
- Who's likely to go solo?
Robert Perez
In their own words...
- Favorite venue:
Dodge Arena
- In high school we were
Ogre was a skinny little geek, Adrian was the class clown, and Robert was a jock.
- What they roll in now:
A caravan of personal vehicles. A van would be quite useful.
- Trusty groupie, er, No. 1 fans:
A tie between Adam Castillo and Rick Garcia
