NEW RESTAURANTS 2010: Vidasoy
East of downtown Weslaco stands a bright green restaurant with a menu fit for a vegan king or queen. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, dinner and features a salad bar and bakery. All of the bread and baked goods are made fresh daily using whole grains and natural ingredients, including sugar from fruits rather than refined white sugar.
Modern lighting and comfortable seating fill the interior of the large restaurant, which also includes a small vegetarian market. Canned and packaged foods made from soy and vegetable protein (including soy chorizo and soy chicken bites) are available for purchase.
