Hermes Music, tejano stars holding charity toy drive
Hermes Music, a McAllen-based group, will conduct a food drive for needy families in Mexico, and they are celebrating it with appearances by several music stars.
The campaign started Wednesday and ends Friday. The organization aims to bring people powdered milk and another non-perishable items. Hermes has dubbed the effort Dar y Recibir.
They launched the drive Wednesday with a celebration. Guests included figures from the Tejano and Spanish music scene, including Ramón Ayala, Carlos T. Salazar from Carlos y José, Cardenales de Nuevo León, Cadetes de Linares de Lupe Tijerina, Vayven del Amor, Banda Sinaloense and more.
Hermes Music is located at 409 S. Broadway St. in McAllen. This marks one of several charitable efforts sponsored by Hermes throughout the year.
