Chingona Fest seeks to highlight female empowerment

A festival will offer female business owners, artisans and more a chance to further their careers at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 21, at the Cubby Hole in Edinburg. 

Chingona Fest will feature vendors such as Pretty Poison Kollection, Scentsy by Jenny, Recycled Dreams and Chazzy's Creations and Such. Representatives of local businesses and organizations like Girl Scouts of America and the Mactown Rebel Rollers will also be on hand at the festival.

Live entertainment will be provided throughout the day from local artists such as poetry from Monica Ramirez and Rachel Vela. Bands scheduled to perform include Gatos Locos, Keytar Dreams and Angela and the X's.

The event is free of charge and open to the public. Minors will be admitted until 9 p.m.
