Three years ago, Phil Acevedo watched one of his all-time favorite movies, Stephen King's The Shining.

Inspired by the chilling story and Jack Nicholson's creepy, crazed performance, Acevedo kept the film in mind as he took to the studio as his alter ego, local electronic music artist A Beautiful Lotus.

He used his trusty computer programs to make the music, and he wrote and screamed out the vocals. The result was the 54-second long "Redrum is Murder," a hardcore meets electronic music jaunt that has won him fans across the globe.

Years later, the song still brings him new listeners, and he has added an extra minute to it for his latest album. Swift Karate Chop, a Youtube video star, often uses the song in his webisodes, which regularly attract more than 100,000 viewers. The song is so popular that A Beautiful Lotus has had to play it twice at the same concert, fearing a crowd revolt if he didn't.

"I wasn't thinking anything of it. I never thought it would blow up, but I put it on MySpace and it blew up," he says. "The Shining is an epic. It's a classic. Anybody who is anybody will know that film. Even the younger audience will know that movie."

And they're starting to know the song too. Head to www.festivarocks.com to download the tune for free now.
