Comments 0 | Recommend 0An art gallery with a bar has opened on South 17th Street in McAllen’s Downtown Entertainment District.
Gallery Bar opens this weekend at 209 S. 17th St. The establishment will open from 8 to 12 p.m. Wednesday through Friday and from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. on Saturdays. Owners say they plan to eventually stay open until 2 a.m.
Gallery Bar sells beer and wine. It’s an intimate venue with a maximum capacity of 32 people. It also has a stage to accommodate solo artists.
The gallery currently features 25 pieces of art. Argentina native and current Harlingen resident Aldo Biglione contributed eight pieces. He also did the plate glass on the bar’s entrance.
Owners say they will open the stage up to anyone who wants to perform, from guitar players to poets.
