BAND Q&A: Sky Eats Airplane

Here's a quick five question session with Sky Eats Airplane guitarist Lee Duck.

How'd the band get it's name?

The name actually has no relevance whatsoever, even though we try to make up stories about its creation. The name is in a sense a product of being sick of all the generic band names out there that plague the music scene with the same four recycled words.

Describe your sound?

Electronica infused metal.

Three biggest influences?

Our guitarist Zack Ordway, who comes up with the riffs and structures is influenced by everything from heavy metal acts such as Meshuggah to tons of jazz artists. I was really into telepopmusik and other electronica acts for inspiration in our electronica. We are very diverse people making diverse music.

If you were booking a concert, what would the ideal line up be?

Meshuggah, Pantera and Led Zeppelin opening.

What song would you want playing if you walked into a party full of strangers?

No song at all. The more awkward the better.
