HIDALGO — Joel Osteen, a pastor whose Sunday television broadcasts draw over a million people each week, is coming to the Dodge Arena on August 9, according to the venue's Web site.
Tickets went on sale May 9 for $15.
He will be joined on stage by wife Victoria Osteen. The service, dubbed "A Night of Hope," will also feature music by Dove Award winning Cindy Cruse Ratcliff.
Osteen, of Lakewood Church in Houston, rose to popularity in the early 2000s, after he succeeded his father in presenting the Sunday services for the church's TV program. Joel Osteen Ministries is currently watched by over a million people each week and the No. 1 rated inspirational program, according to TV show rating system Nielsen Media Research.
Osteen, 46, has penned two New York Times Best Seller books and was named one of the "10 Most Fascinating People of 2007" by ABC News. He can also be seen on this month's cover of Texas Monthly.
