WHERE THEY ARE NOW: S.A.L.T.
Their name stands for sangre, alma, lagrimas y temor and that's exactly the range of emotions S.A.L.T. has experienced throughout the last decade together. Through it all they remain a tight group of friends without a shift in the lineup. In the late 90s S.A.L.T. racked up nearly 200 shows a year and built a solid reputation for their rock en Español appeal. You could catch them at Simon Sez, Peckers in Weslaco or Tom & Jerry's (now Newmans). After moving the band to San Marcos S.A.L.T. continued recording and spreading the love for music. They took a two year break in 2005, some of the members got married and started families which shuffled priorities a bit. But the guys are back into the swing of things doing only a few shows a year in the Austin area and hope to return to the Valley soon. Fans should keep an eye out for some fresh material.

- Started: Aug. 20, 1997
- Hometown: Harlingen, Weslaco, Pharr
- Now based out of: San Marcos

- Interesting tid bit: Roze met his wife, Suzan at a gig. (Peckers in Weslaco).
- Memorable moment: "We had a following called the ‘S.A.L.T.ines', they were these beautiful girls that followed us everywhere. Everybody singing the songs back to us. That was awesome. After we moved out of the Valley in 2001, another memorable moment was getting to play at CBGB's in New York and record a theme song for a pilot reality television show.
- What you miss most about playing the Valley: "All of the fans. Everyone who used to come to our shows. It was strong. We played so much and still had day jobs. It was tough, but how often do you get to do that?"
