Wedding: Willbanks-Dunagan

Abigail Elizabeth Willbanks of Colleyville, Texas and Ryan Owen Dunagan of Abilene, Texas entered into a covenant of marriage on Saturday, March 28, 2009 at six o'clock in the evening. The ceremony was held at Fort Worth Presbyterian Church. John Willbanks, father of the bride and Ron Dunagan, father of the groom officiated.

Music was provided by Mrs. Terry Ellis, pianist.

Following the ceremony the guests enjoyed a night of dinner and dancing at the historic Ashton Depot in downtown Fort Worth.  Music was provided by Ice House.

On the eve of the wedding the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner in the Gallery of the Wild at the Fort Worth Zoo.

Abby is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John D Willbanks, Jr. of Colleyville, Texas and the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Sanford Thompson, of Lake Jackson, Texas, Mr. and Mrs. Gil King of Hurst, Texas and Mr. and Mrs. John D Willbanks, Sr. of Colleyville.

Ryan is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ron Dunagan of Edinburg, Texas and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dewey Young of McAllen, Texas, Col.(Ret.) and Mrs. Eddie Dunagan of Austin, Texas and great grandson of  Mrs. Kathryn Geha of St. Joseph, Missouri and Mrs. Trellis Young of Doniphan, Missouri.

Given in marriage by her parents and escorted by her father the bride wore an exquisite gown of ivory duchess satin designed by Ulla-Maija. The princess style gown featured a softly draped neckline and a fluted bottom that cascaded into a chapel length train. Completing her ensemble was an elegant cathedral length veil of illusion which was trimmed with silk organza ribbon.

She carried a hand tied bouquet of cream peonies, white hydrangeas, roses and cymbidium orchids.

Matrons of honor were Abby's sisters Alyson Booth and Tara Goodwin and her sister-in-law Shelly Willbanks.

Bridesmaids were Brittany Ellis, Alexandra Miles, Jennifer Harrison, Marka Sue Barrow, Ashley Schorn, Ashley Pattison, Kristee Davidson, Caitlin Hicks and Megan Goforth. They wore navy chiffon gowns and carried bouquets of hydrangeas, peonies and roses.

Also attending the bride as flower girls were her nieces Haley Brook Willbanks, Riley Kate Willbanks, Mallory Grace Willbanks, Adalyn Kate Booth and Lillian Caroline Booth.

The bride's nephews John D (Jack) Willbanks IV, Sanford Parr (Scout) Goodwin and Ryder Ross Goodwin served as ring bearers.

Ryan's best man was his brother Reagan Dunagan, serving in the U.S.A.F. and unable to attend. 

Groomsmen were Garrett Winder, Neil Pattison, Scott Powers, Christopher Bergman, Seth Thompson, Tra Willbanks, brother of the bride, Matthew Booth and Dwight Goodwin brothers-in-law of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Fort Worth Christian High School and Abilene Christian University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in Family Studies. She is employed by New Horizons in Abilene. 

The groom is a graduate of James Nikki Rowe High School in McAllen, Texas and a graduate of Abilene Christian University with a double major in Business Management and Marketing. He is employed by Paul Johnson and Associates as a commercial real estate broker and is part owner of Gandr web design development in Abilene.

A fireworks display surprised the bride and groom as they departed the reception in a horse drawn carriage.

Following a honeymoon to St. Lucia Abby and Ryan will reside in Abilene, Texas.
