The Monitor
With The Monitor's 100th anniversary celebration scheduled for Dec. 11, 2009, we decided to commemorate our centennial in various ways throughout the year. One of those was listing some of the most prominent names ever to call the Rio Grande Valley home.
Over the next 11 months, The Monitor -- in cooperation with Valley Fredom Newspapers The Brownsville Herald and the Valley Morning Star -- will peer into the lives of more than 60 people that have made a statement not only in deep South Texas, but beyond.
