Anniversary: Lugo

Araceli Tijerina and Jose Ernesto Lugo were married on November 9, 1958 at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Weslaco, Texas. They will celebrate their 50th Wedding Anniversary with their children and grandchildren at 9 a.m. on Sunday, November 9, 2008 at St. Joan of Arc in Weslaco, Texas, (the same church where they were married 50 years ago).

Jose Ernesto Lugo is a former Superintendent and School Administrator for the Donna Independent School District. He was also the past District Governor for the Lions Club International, District 283 and is Army retired. Araceli is the founder of the Donna Adult Day Care Center in Donna, Texas (established in 1991). They have five children, all whom are graduates of Donna High School, and ten grandchildren.

Their daughter, Christina Aide' Raskin, is an attorney and lives in Maryland with her husband, Dr. Barry Raskin, and their daughter, Lauren. Their daughter, Aleida Oehlke, is a former School Administrator and teacher. Aleida lives in Plano, Texas with her husband, John Oehlke and their daughter, Krista.

Their son, Ernest Lugo, is the owner of various health care-related companies located in Donna, Edinburg and Pharr, Texas (established in 1996). He is a former Captain for a major U.S. airline. Ernest has two daughters, Bianca and Sarah, and lives in Donna, where he is currently a School Board candidate for the Donna Independent School District.

Their daughter, Annabel Hoffman, is an attorney and co-owner of Lunita Company, a children's bilingual books publishing company. She lives in Dallas with her husband, Joe Hoffman, and their two daughters, Meredith and Natalie.

Their son, Carlos Lugo, is owner of New Life Adult Day Care Centers in Mission and Hidalgo, Texas. Carlos also owns 1st Class Medical Supply and Helping Hands Adult Day Care and Provider Services in Mission, Texas. Carlos lives in Sharyland, Texas with his wife, Roxanna Lugo, and their four children, Charlie, Kristina, Jonathan and Michael.
