Starr County drug busts net $2.5 million

RIO GRANDE CITY -- Border Patrol agents seized more than $2.5 million worth of marijuana over the weekend in Starr County.

The first seizure occurred near Fronton, where agents confiscated 1,200 pounds of marijuana, according to a statement issued by the U.S. Border Patrol.

Agents found another 1,000 pounds inside an abandoned 1997 Ford Expedition near Sullivan City.
