Learn fair hiring practices at free seminar April 9 in McAllen

Human Resources is one of the most valuable departments in any organization. Why? Because this group recruits new talent and works hard to retain good employees at a company over the long term. If your business is just starting up or looking for a way to refresh its HR practices, South Texas College is offering a new, free Lunch and Learn Series to help you become the HR guru you always dreamed of becoming.

The first in the series, “Fair Hiring Practices for Beginners” takes place April 9 from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the college’s Pecan Campus in McAllen. Attendees to the free seminar will enjoy a free lunch while learning how to publicize new openings, develop applications, perform background checks and other testing, interview and select the right candidate, and make a job offer.
