Community invited to 43rd annual Carnival of the Great Pumpkin Oct. 31
Comments 0 | Recommend 0The University of Texas-Pan American will host its 43rd annual Carnival of the Great Pumpkin on Saturday, October 31 from 6-10 p.m. at the UTPA Fieldhouse.
The carnival celebrated its debut at then Pan American College in 1966 and has been an annual Halloween tradition ever since.
Free and open to all students, faculty, staff and the surrounding community, the festival offers families a variety of activities such as costume and pumpkin pie eating contests with prizes, a haunted house, face painting, a wax hand replica machine and other free attractions, such as inflatable laser tag and a giant slide. A DJ will provide musical entertainment.
Student organizations on campus will offer food booths and carnival games with 100 percent of the proceeds going to help operate their organizations – many of them academic-related.
Bring the kids and the grandparents and grandkids to have a safe but howling good time while supporting opportunities for UTPA students. Free parking is available adjacent to the Fieldhouse.
For more information, call the University Program Board at 956/316-7991.
