The cathedral length gown carried intricate embroidery and Swarovski crystals throughout the bodice and skirt. To compliment the gown, the bride wore a cathedral length Spanish mantilla, and a Swarovski encrusted tiara. Hair and makeup was provided by celebrity makeup artist Albert Alaniz, a close friend of the bride.
In keeping with tradition the bride wore "something old", an antique garnet ring, which is the brides' birthstone belonging to her maternal grandmother, the late Aurora Garcia. “Something new”, pearl and diamond earrings, a gift from her mother, "something borrowed", a pearl bracelet and necklace from her sister Sylvia, and "something blue”, a tiny powder blue bow attached to the bride's French lace garter.
Following the ceremony, a cocktail hour was held in the veranda at the Witte Museum as the sun was setting. It overlooked the banks of the San Antonio River and Brackenridge Park. Mariachis serenaded guests as they walked onto the grounds from a walkway lined with luminarias.
Guests were treated to hors d'ourves and sipped on champagne and cocktails, as they toured parts of the museum. Guests then entered a candle lit ballroom for a seated dinner and dancing. A desert buffet topped off the reception.
