Armed robbers break into home, steal $50
SOUTH OF ALAMO -- A group of armed robbers broke into a home Tuesday evening and stole $50 from their victims, authorities said.
Hidalgo County sheriff’s deputies rushed to a home on the 400 block of Pantera Drive about 7:40 p.m. in response to the aggravated robbery. A woman inside told police at least three Hispanic men with several rifles and a handgun stormed into the home and threatened her family, according to a news release issued Wednesday by the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office.
The people demanded money in Spanish, telling their victims to “shut up, (and) give us the money.”
The woman, who told authorities she feared for her family’s life, gave one of the suspects a tan wallet that contained $50. One of her children saw the suspects leave the residence in a white car.
Anyone with information is urged to call the Hidalgo County Sheriff’s Office Crime Stoppers hotline at (956) 668-TIPS.
