3 killed in Reynosa shootout

REYNOSA — Three armed civilians were killed in a clash with Mexican army soldiers Tuesday morning.

Tamaulipas state officials reported the fatalities in a bulletin on its Web site, saying the civilians were armed with weapons.

No location in Reynosa was given, nor was any information about possible injuries or fatalities of soldiers disclosed. Officials did not say whether the civilians were connected to drug cartels.

Federal authorities continue to investigate the incident. Federal officials said Tuesday afternoon they had no information to disclose about the incident.

No further information was immediately available.
